Welcome to the web site of Carriages Guesthouse, a small family-run business based in Dunbartonshire, Scotland. We are based in the medium-sized village of Renton, which is located about 5 miles from the southern shore of Loch Lomond. This area is also known as the gateway to the Western Highlands of Scotland. This web site is intended to give you a look around our apartment and some contact information.

We currently run one fully self-contained apartment at the rear of our main property. This apartment is equipped with twin-single beds and a kitchen area complete with refrigerator, electric hob, microwave oven and kettle. The toilet/washroom is fitted with hot running water, WC and electric shower. The apartment also has a terrestrial TV and DVD player. Gas central heating is fitted throughout. The apartment can be accessed without having to go through the main property, allowing guests to come and go at times that best suit them without disturbing anyone.

We are absolutely ideal for visiting couples or small families who enjoy active holidays out-and-about whilst still having a 'home base' accommodation that offers independence. Similarly, our apartment is also great for working people who need accommodation whilst they work away from home, but prefer not to use hotels.

Situated adjacent to Renton Railway Station, Carriages is absolutely ideal for anyone who might be travelling without the use of their own car. Even better, we're also only 2 stops on the train from Balloch, the popular holiday and day-trip destination. If that doesn't suit, then no problem! If you prefer the city, then you can hop on the train in the opposite direction and can be in Glasgow City Centre within 40 minutes.

If you're a golfer or into a spot of fishing (maybe both!) then we're absolutely ideal. From our apartment, you are literally a 5 minute walk from the shores of the River Leven, a very popular fishing spot in the region. If you have transport, you can be on the River Clyde, the shores of Loch Lomond or even one of the many surrounding private fishing reservoirs within 10 minutes. Similarly, if Golf is your passion, then you are within very easy reach of no less than 5 popular golf courses (providing you're driving).

If you've brought your car to visit us, then rest assured that you can use our secured locking parking garage free of charge. You can lock up your vehicle for the duration of your entire visit if you like and take off on day-trips to your heart's content without having to worry. It's all taken care of.
